One of the most anticipated games of the year if not the decade Cyberpunk 2077 clearly has a big variety of guns and a huge arsenal of you to choose from. With the help of this Cyberpunk 2077 weapons guide you will understand how all the weapons work and the kinds of weapons there are. There are 6 types of weapons in the game: Power weapons, Tech weapons, Smart weapons, Melee weapons, Cyberware and Throwables.

Cyberpunk 2077 weapons guide Smart Starting

As most shooter games, the weapon arsenal of Cyberpunk 2077 is separated in Assault Rifles, SMGs, Sniper Rfiles etc. except in this game they are classified by the type of technology used for them to be made. Each weapon has benefits and setbacks, depending on which weapon you are using.

  • Power weapons – high fire rate, high recoil
  • Tech weapons – low fire rate, can penetrate
  • Smart weapons – Bullets are guided
  • Melee weapons – For melee attacks and close face to face combat
  • Cyberware – body augmentations that cover a lot of weapon styles
  • Throwable weapons – weapons that can be thrown

Most weapons in Cyberpunk 2077 can be changed and augmented to change the way they fire which can completely change the nature of the gun.
You can switch Assault Rifles to Tech Weapons or Smart Weapons and make similar combinations like that.

Power Weapons

This is the oldest and most known class of weapons in Cyberpunk 2077.
They use the traditional ammo and projectile technology and they are always a reliable source against most enemies in the game.

They have a high rate of fire which means higher damage per second. The downside is that this high fire rate often has a big recoil setback
meaning you won’t be able to hit most of the target with the bullets.
Power weapons very commonly found throughout Night City and cover a wide of vareity of weapon types.

Tech Weapons

Tech weapons are weapons using an electromagnetic charge to launch ammunition at incredibly high velocities unlike the usual traditional projectile technologoy. As a result, these guns boast the highest penetration factor of any weapon class. You can penetrate though covers in Cyberpunk 2077, which makes Tech Weapons are a very good choice in most combat situations.

The setback of Tech Weaponry is the electromagnetic approach is that the time between shots is very high, which makes your fire rate very slow. So in a situation where you are fighting a big amount of enemies with no cover it is not the best choice.

Smart Weapons

Smart Weapons are some of the epic and interesting guns available in Cyberpunk 2077. These weapons use a gyrojet technology to fire small rockets rather than bullets, which then track the heat of the enemy and follow the targeted enemy.

The benefits of such technology are pretty obvious, you can shoot behind corners or other covers. The setback of the weapon is that the direct damage it causes isn’t close to the other weapons, they aren’t meant for continious combat.
Smart Weapons are meant to be used to eliminate enemies from distance.

Melee Weapons

Cyberpunk 2077 has a big variety of melee weapons for those who want to go for the cuber-samurai game fantasy in their character progression. The setback is clear, they are melee weapons and you probably will be taking a lot of damage until the point you can hit the enemy if hes shooting at you.
Only option you should use these is whenever you run out of bullets or as a backup option.

Cyberware Augmentations

Cyberware is the diverse class of weaponry available in Cyberpunk 2077. It does not have any particular strengths or setbacks. These body augmentations range from melee options like Blades attached to your hands or ranged options like rockets in your forearms.
It is best recommended to use these alongside other weapons for a quick shift instead of a reload.

Throwables

These weapons are only used for a fun option, you can not carry an endless infinite supply of throwing knives around, they are simply one or two shot weapons for style.
